A retired school teacher and former corporate benefits manager, Ken Billett is an active advocate for melanoma research and skin cancer prevention. His cancer story has been published (online) by several national melanoma organizations. Ken chronicles his ongoing journey with a blog "Difficulty Lies Opportunity". In November 2019, Ken was a guest contributor (A Reason to Write) on the Southern Writers Magazine Author's Blog. As a freelance writer, Ken has written several feature stories for local publications and is currently working on his first novel - a spy thriller. He has a short story awaiting publication in Malice's upcoming Mississippi River anthology.
Ken also volunteers his time at the Blues Hall of Fame in downtown Memphis, which has led to becoming an amateur blues historian. Ken has called Memphis home for more than thirty years, and, when not tending to his flowers, he and his wife travel extensively. His freelance writing and blog posts can be found on Ken's Facebook page. |
